Iqbal Day 2024

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organized a dignified ceremony to celebrate the Iqbal Day. The Chief Guest of the program was the Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh and the Guests of Honour were the Vice Principals Ms. Shabana Tabassum and Ms. Sarwat Nazir. The participants strived to highlight the achievements of the Poet of East, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and do justice to the great philosopher who taught the Muslims of the subcontinent to take pride in being the followers of Allah Almighty. The students recited poetry and enacted an interesting skit to introduce Iqbal's ideology to the spectators. Iqra Rukhsar from BS Chemistry presented an essay on Iqbal's criticism of the Western civilization. The participants recited the exhilarating verses of "شکوہ" and " جوابِ شکوہ", delighting the senses of the audience. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh recited Iqbal's poetry and emphasized upon the need to have strong faith and an industrious spirit to lift Pakistan out of the dark shadows. The Principal along with her staff members visited the display of books related to Iqbal's literature as well. She appreciated this initiative of the college library to acquaint the youth with Iqbal's ideology. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Kashmir Black Day 2024

Kashmir Black Day was observed on 27th October, 2024 to remember the 77 years of struggle and hardships faced by the Kashmiris under the illegal
occupation of India. In this regard, a program was also arranged by the College Student Council at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The participants registered their resounding protest over the atrocities committed against their Kashmiri brethren through speeches, poetry and songs. Dr. Raheela Kausar from the Department of Arabic presented a beautiful poetic prayer for the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. The students also too part in a walk to show solidarity with the Kashmiris. The program ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Gold Medal Certificate in International Kangaroo Science Contest

International Kangaroo Science Contest was successfully conducted at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 on 12th September 2024. The event aimed at making the students develop their analytical and problem solving skills in a competitive environment. A total of 188 students from all over Pakistan participated in the contest where they had to solve MCQs related to Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Our outstanding student Summaiya Ikram, from 2nd year C, earned the Academic Excellence Award by getting 1st position in Pakistan. She secured 131 marks out of 150. She also won a Thomas Edison Gold Medal along with an executive USB keychain. Moreover, our nine students won star badges and 38 students got special ball points for their incredible performance. All the participants were awarded certificates of participation. Certificate of Achievement was also bestowed upon the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh and Certificate of Appreciation to the Co-ordinator, Ma'am Humaira Rasheed, for their dedication and hardwork. To honour the team's contribution, an amount of nine thousand rupees was awarded to the Student Fund of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. This achievement is a matter of great pride for the institution and its staff members for it validates our commitment to scholastic distinction.

IMCG(PG) F-7/2 brings Laurels in GIRLS SPORTS CARNIVAL 2024

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad took part in the Girls Sports Carnival 2024 with great fervour and enthusiasm. The carnival was jointly organized by FBISE and FDE at Islamabad Sports Complex under the supervision of MoFE&PT. Our athletes trained for days under the guidance of their mentors to participate in various sporting events. Our Volleyball team won against Team Bannu and Team Gilgit Baltistan after nail-biting competition in the qualifying rounds. At the end of the Sports Carnival, which spanned over three days, the positions table became a testament of the remarkable sportsmanship of our students. IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad got 1st position in Lawn Tennis, 2nd position in Lawn Tennis FDE team (from IMCG F/7-2), 3rd position in Table Tennis and Volleyball. Felicitations to the winning athletes and their coaches.

Academic Excellence Award Ceremony session 2022-23

Appreciation for the Talented and the Committed motivates them to soar to new heights and greater glory. Federal Directorate of Education held an Academic Excellence Award Ceremony on 29th March, 2024 at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The ceremony was organized to acknowledge the excellent academic results accomplished under the leadership of the learned Heads of the Institutions in the session 2022-23. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the honourable Director General (FDE), Mr. Tanwir Ahmed. The event was also attended by Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua (Joint Education Advisor), Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza (Director Colleges), Ms. Riffat Jabeen (Director Academics and QA), Dr. Tabassum Naz (Director Schools), various dignitaries from FDE, Heads of the Institutions and Staff members. The program started with the rendition of the National Anthem followed by the recitation from the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). Ms. Somia Sohail, Assistant Professor (IMCG F-7/2), greeted the august guests and shed light on the academic feats of the attendees. Director General (FDE) along with other notable officers from the Directorate distributed a total of Fifty Eight awards among the distinguished Principals on outstanding results in the categories of Primary level, Grade 8, Matriculation, Intermediate and BS programs respectively. In addition to this, the winners of the top position in each category were awarded a cash prize of 50,000rs. In the category of Primary level, Ms. Nusrat Farid, Head mistress (IMS I-V F-7/2), received the cash prize. Ms. Zahida Nasim Siddiqui, Vice Principal (IMSG I-VIII Khanna Dak), got the distinction in the category of Grade 8. Ms. Ghazala Bashir Khan, Principal (IMSG VI-X G-6/1-3), won the accolade at Matriculation level. At Intermediate level, Ms. Aaliya Durrani, Principal (IMCG F-6/2), got the distinction while Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Principal (IMCG Post Graduate F-7/2), received the cash prize on displaying superb results at BS level.
DG (Edu), Mr. Tanwir Ahmed, addressed the audience after the certificate distribution. He offered his felicitations to the winners and praised the commendable service of the Principals in imparting quality education to the students despite limited resources. The Chief Guest also stressed upon the need of continual efforts on the part of the heads of the institutions and teachers in bestowing the knowledge of the 21st century upon the students. Finally, he reiterated his commitment to create a healthy environment for the educationists working under the ambit of FDE.
The Principal of host college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, provided the Note of Gratitude on the successful completion of the event. The Academic Excellence Award Ceremony is a significant initiative on the part of FDE to boost the confidence of the pedagogues ahead of the start of the new academic session.

First Parent Teacher Meeting 2023

The first Parent Teacher Meeting for the session 2023-24 concluded today at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad with a great response from the esteemed parents of the students. The meeting was held to discuss the progress of the students with their parents after the first and second periodical examinations. The faculty members discussed the grades and the learning goals of the pupils with the parents in detail. The parents expressed their appreciation over the initiative of conducting a Parent Teacher Meeting to keep them apprised about the academic progress of their children.

Celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Day 2023

It is the right of every national hero to be remembered by its nation with dignity and respect. The month of December has always been set as the month of our beloved Quaid, Muhammed Ali Jinnah, in the hearts of every Pakistani. In this regard, Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad and the educational institutions working under it, had organized a Speech Competition as a part of Quaid's Week celebrations from 18th to 22nd December, 2023. One of the largest educational institutions of the capital, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, had the honour of hosting the Final Inter Sector level Bilingual Speech Competition on 22nd December, 2023. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the honourable DG FDE, Mr. Tanveer Ahmed. Other dignitaries attending the function were Ms. Riffat Jabeen (Director, Exam/Acad/R&D) and Mr. Inam Jahangir (Director P&D). The honourable judges for the competition were Dr. Saira Asghar (Assistant Professor, Fatima Jinnah Women University) and Ms. Sara Ehsaan (Research Associate, Quaid-e-Azam University). The competition started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). A total of Six speakers expressed their thoughts on the visionnaire of the 20th century, Muhammed Ali Jinnah. The program commenced with a heart warming speech from Raqeeza Shehzadi who gave her views on the topic بیسویں صدی کے عظیم رہنما قائدِاعظم. Muhammed Awais from IMCB G-10/4 Islamabad spoke eloquently on the topic "Quaid-e-Azam's Vision of Religious Tolerance". Another speaker, Syeda Fizza Batool from IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, talked about the great visionary leader, Quaid-e-Azam, who had the foresight of creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent in the backdrop of today's religious intolerance rampant in the neighbouring country. The students of the college also entertained the audience with patriotic songs on Quaid-e-Azam Day. In his address, the esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion, DG FDE Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, appreciated the tireless endeavours of the organizers and participants in making the function today a great success. He also shared his insight about the par excellence leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah in the freedom movement and his utmost dedication to the principles of honesty, unity, faith and discipline. He stressed upon the need of following directives of Quaid-e-Azam for the betterment of our homeland, Pakistan. Afterwards, the stage secretary, Ms. Sobia Masood, called the Chief Guest, Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, Principal Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Ms. Riffat Jabeen and Mr. Inam Jahangir upon the stage to distribute prizes among the worthy winners. The third position was taken by Abeer Rizwan (FGCHEMS F-11, Ibd.), the second position was given to Muhammed Mansoor Afzal (ICB G-6, Ibd.) and the top honours went to Syeda Fizza Batool (IMCG Post Graduate F-7/2, Ibd.). The Principal of the college presented the College Insignia to the Guests of Honour, Ms. Riffat Jabeen and Mr. Inam Jahangir. She also presented the College Insignia to the Chief Guest, DG FDE Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, to show gratitude for his presence. The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh provided the closing note and thanked the dignitaries and the students for their participation in the program. Gifts were also distributed among the Christian Non-teaching Staff to show solidarity with them. The program was a testament that the love and esteem for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah is alive and pulsating in the core of every native of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Meeting of College Management Committee 2023-24

College Management Committee is a useful platform through which the College Administration endeavors to work for the betterment of the institution with the co-operation of the parents and guardians. In this regard, a meeting was held in the first week of December 2023. The Principal of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, chaired the meeting. Both the Vice Principals, existing members of the committee as well as those parents who accepted the nominations for the upcoming elections were in attendance. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the schedule of the new elections for the session 2023-25, performance of the CMC and dispatch of invitations to all the parents for the elections. The Principal of the college stressed upon the need to focus on the projects of student welfare especially the arrangement of adequate transport for them. The parents assured the Principal of their complete co-operation.The elections for CMC will be held soon. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh provided the closing remarks for the meeting.

The Inter Class Urdu Drama Competition titled "Natak Katha" was held in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad with great gusto and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Vice Principal of the college, Ms. Sarwat Nazir. The honourable judges for the competition were Ms. Zille Huma ( Dept. of Zoology), Ms. Ayesha Kiran (Dept. of Physics) and Ms. Qurat ul Ain (Dept. of Computer Sciences). The competition was a beautiful amalgam of tragedy, satire, wit, humour and melodrama. A humorous play on the rising inflation and dearness in Pakistan tickled the funny bones of the audience. Another play titled " دخترِ فلسطین" depicted the atrocities perpetuated by the Israel on the innocent Palestinians. The lyrical monologue in the end moved everyone to tears. The classic "ہیر رانجھا" introduced the folk culture and tradition to the audience. The play "چار دن کی چاندنی پھر اندھیری رات" ,which was about the fake spiritual healers looting the gullible, captured the attention of the spectators. The main leads of the play, Amna and Ansa of 2nd yr Q, kept the audience entertained through their excellent role playing. A total of Nine plays were enacted by the talented students on the stage. The Chief Guest, Ms. Sarwat Nazir, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and the participants. She also gave many valuable tips to the young artists regarding stage setting and dialogue delivery. The Department of Fine Arts organized the Inter Class Origami Installation Competition 2023. The theme of the competition was "Nature" and the medium used for the contest was paper. The Inter Class Qirat Competition 2023 was held on 5th December, 2023 in the college auditorium. The Chief Guest of the function was the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The esteemed judges of the competition were Ms. Shagufta Shahid (HoD, Arabic), Ms. Ayesha Anum (Lecturer, Dept. of Arabic) and Ms. Saira Anwar (Incharge Masjid Committee). The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). The host of the competition, Sadia Komal (President, Student Council), shed light on the benefits of reciting the Holy Quran regularly. She also informed the audience that Ayat ul Qursi has been selected for recitation in the Qirat Competition. A total of 10 participants took part in the contest. Their mellifluous voices reciting the verses of Quran-e-Hakeem created a soulful ambience in the auditorium. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, eloquently spoke about the significance of reciting Ayat ul Qursi as it is protects the Muslims against the evil. She also recounted the incident in which Shaitaan himself accepted the effectiveness of Ayat ul Qursi. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to recite it daily. A Student Council has always been efficacious in providing leadership and learning opportunities to the pupils of an educational institution. It works actively with the teachers and the students for the fulfillment of the curricular and co-curricular objectives of the institution. Elections to choose the Student Council for the academic year 2023-24 were held in the month of October in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. A solemn and dignified Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Executive members of the Council and the Class Representatives was held on 23rd November, 2023 in the College Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the University of Swabi. He is a seasoned educationist who has done his Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, USA. He has also served on key administrative and managerial positions in various universities. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak is an accomplished scholar who has published over forty research papers in national and international journals. Parents of the worthy Executive Council Members were also invited to attend the ceremony. The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Translation by Sidra Shehzad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w) by Elaf Farooq. The host of the ceremony, Fizzah Atta, welcomed the honourable Chief Guest on the stage. The stage secretary threw light on the role of the Student Council in organizing Inter-Class and Inter-Collegiate competitions. Fizzah Atta also expounded upon the achievements of the college in curricular and co-curricular activities in the academic year 2022-23. The talented crew led by Ayesha Ali recited the College Anthem melodiously. The President of the outgoing Student Council, Ms. Rukhsar Nudrat, gave her farewell speech after handing over the charge to the new President, Ms. Sadia Komal. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak took oath of office from the newly elected President Ms. Sadia Komal, Vice President Ms. Huda Khalid, General Secretary Ms. Areeba Malik, Joint Secretary Ms. Fatima tuz Zahra, the secretaries of various societies and the class representatives. He also distributed badges among the office bearers of the Student Council 2023-24. The Chief Guest, Dr.Nasir Jamal Khattak, along with Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh (Principal, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad) awarded scholarships to the brilliant students for securing excellent results in various disciplines. The Chief Guest was then called upon the podium to address the audience. He commended the Student Council on the smooth transition of power by following the golden principles of democracy. He thought that this instance could teach a lot to the leaders of our country. He also emphasized upon the fact that life should not be perceived in binaries of happiness and sadness, losing and winning because circumstances change with time. The only focus should be to not loose faith in our abilities as the youth has the power to transform the world for the better. His eloquent speech was very well received by the audience. The Principal of the College also gave the insignia of the college to the Chief Guest. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, in her closing remarks, thanked the Chief Guest for his august presence. She also felicitated the In charge Student Council and her team for organizing an outstanding function today. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Iqbal Day Celebrations 2023

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a colourful event to pay tribute to the great Poet of the East, Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 146th birthday. Allama Iqbal's poetry served as a beacon for the muslims of the sub-continent to struggle for a separate homeland. The Student Council, the Department of Urdu and the students collaborated to put forward some of the best performances of this year on Iqbal's poetry. Speeches, tableaux and songs were presented, beseeching the youth to realise their potential to become the Shaheen and Momin of Iqbal's dream. The students also used the platform to highlight the plight of the fellow Palestinians in the war being waged against them by their oppressors. In her address the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, congratulated the organisers and the participants on their efforts. She lamented the fact that today's Muslim doesn't make an effort to understand and follow the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Iqbal's poetry provides them with a chance to connect their religion and learn how to become a true Muslim. She recited many verses of Iqbal in her speech to counsel the students that faith, persistence, kindness and justice can make them world leaders.The event ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Black Day Observed on 27th October. 2023

Pakistan is remembering the long struggle of Kashmiris for independence by celebrating Black Day on 27th October as it is the day when India illegally occupied Kashmir in 1947. To show solidarity with their fellow Muslims, the students of the college gathered in the college ground and chanted slogans about the right of self determination of the Kashmiris. They also presented tableau, songs and speeches to highlight the Indian atrocities against the peaceful people of Kashmir. In her speech, the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, expressed her anguish at the acts of brutality being committed in Kashmir and Palestine. She encouraged the students to capture the true spirit of Islam through their character and deeds so that they can face the non believers courageously. In the end, she led a soul stirring prayer for the betterment of our country and Muslim ummah. The success of the event is a testament to the zeal of the Student Council of the college for showing solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.

Breat Cancer Awareness Lecture

October is the month reserved for Breast Cancer Awareness as discussion on this deadly disease is still considered a taboo in many parts of the world. Dr. Irum Khan from Polyclinic Hospital along with her team visited IMCG PG F-7 2 Islamabad to educate the students on Breast Cancer prevention and diagnosis. Dr. Irum Khan started her lecture with an inspiring saying of Ann Jillian
" There can be life after breast cancer. The prerequisite is early detection."
Through a multi media presentation, Dr. Irum Khan enlightened the audience about the preventive measures, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Her focus was that there should be no hesitation or shyness while conversing about this disease which can affect 1 out 8 women in their life according to statistics. A healthy lifestyle and timely detection of the cancer through self examination or mammogram can do wonders in deterring the spread of this ailment. Dr. Irum Khan informed the audience that Polyclinic Hospital has the facility of free testing on latest mammography system which is a blessing for low income strata of the city. IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a beautiful ceremony to celebrate Eid Milaad un Nabi (s.a.w.w). The stage decorations were aesthetically pleasing as befitting the grand occasion of the birth of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, along with the staff members welcomed the respected officials from FDE, principals of various colleges and the retired members of fraternity to the holy gathering. The students offered melodious tributes to Rehmat ul lil Alameen, Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). Their voices transported the audience to pure and reverent place. Ms. Rabia Kayani eloquently highlighted the greatness of the character of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) while Dr. Aiysha Madni, in her speech, registered a protest against the desecration of Holy Quran in the western countries. In the end, Dr. Aiysha Madni also led a prayer, beseeching Allah Almighty to bestow His blessings upon us. Her words left the audience teary eyed. The spiritual gathering, held to honour the birth of the Saviour of humanity, had such an ethereal quality that it is hard to capture it in mere words. May Allah accept our efforts to please Him and His beloved Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). Aameen

Interclass Hamd O Naat Competition 2023

An Inter Class Hamd o Naat Competition was held on 14th September, 2023 in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Ghazala Ishtiaq who is serving as the Head of the Department of English at IMCG PG F-7/2 Islamabad. Ms. Maimoona Khatoon (Dept. Of Chem), Ms. Zohra Bano (Dept. of Fine Arts) and Ms. Irum Malik (Dept. of Urdu) served as the judges of the competition. The competition was split into two categories: Recitation of Hamd and Recitation of Naat. A total of 26 students took part in the category of their own choice. Their melodious voices praising Allah, Who is the Master of all and His beloved Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h entranced the audience. The Chief Guest, Ms. Ghazala Ishtiaq, appreciated the efforts of the participants and the organizers of the event especially Ms. Samina, Head of the Department of Urdu. The highlight of her address was the moment when she poignantly expressed the futility of man's existence which can only be made worthwhile by our love for Allah and Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h. Prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition by the Chief Guest, Ms. Ghazala Ishtiaq and Head of the Student Council, Dr. Irum Sheikh. A lecture on "The Reality of the Soul" by Ustada Alia Malik

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a lecture on "The Reality of the Soul" today. Ustada Alia Malik (Alima at Nur ul Ilm Islamabad) graced the occasion to speak on the subject. The lecture started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Dr. Ayesha Madni (Dept. Of Islamic Studies) and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool by Ayesha Ali ( 2nd year Pre Medical). The honourable speaker, Ms. Alia Malik, initiated the discourse by explaining to the audience about the reality of the soul and how it remains eternal even after the death of a person. She also signalled out two entities which mislead a man from the righteous path namely Satan and Nafs. She, then, centred her discussion upon the perils of Nafs-e-Ammarah. She explained the ways to control it in order to advance to Nafs ul Lawwama and subdue it also. Only then can a human being achieve Nafs-e-Mutmainna which helps us gain a pure heart, success in eternal life and, ultimately, Allah's approval. She stressed upon the need that we should not be deluded by the attractions of this temporary world as stated in Surah Takasur verse 1. She suggested that Muslims should attain piety by detaching themselves from worldly possessions and desires. Secondly, they should make charity a priority. Lastly, the believers should keep themselves busy in Allah's worship. Overall, Ms. Alia Malik's lecture proved to be a soul stirring experience for both the students and the faculty members.

Every year, on the 6th of September, Defence Day is celebrated in memory of the sacrifices the Pakistani Armed Forces made in the war of 1965. IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organized a program to remember our war heroes. The Chief Guest of the occasion was a seasoned educationist, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh (Principal, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad).The spirit of patriotism was at its peak as the program commenced. The young students of HSSC-I & II presented songs, speeches and tableaux to commend the selfless service of our Armed Forces in protecting our homeland. The pupils also enacted two plays to pay homage to the great martyrs of Pakistan Military which left everyone in the audience dewy eyed.The students also made posters on Defence Day. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, appreciated the efforts of the participants and the organizers of the event. She shed light on the roles of the military and the civilians in nation building respectively. She took a pledge from the audience to work honestly and unselfishly for the betterment of Pakistan . The program was a testament to our zeal for celebrating our national heroes and martyrs.

76th Independence Day Celebrations 2023

Islamic Republic of Pakistan is celebrating its 76th Independence Day today. IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad also arranged a vibrant program befitting the grand occasion on 14th August, 2023. The honourable staff members, their children and the students of the college took part in the celebrations wholeheartedly. The day started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (S.A.W.W). The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, along with the respected Vice Principals and the senior staff members hoisted the flag of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Afterwards the National Anthem was played to pay our respects to our motherland. The host of the event, Ms. Somia Sohail (Asst. Professor, Dept. Of English), eloquently expressed her patriotic feelings for the country. The students of the institution and the talented offsprings of the staff members left no stone unturned in paying tribute to Pakistan. Decked out in colours of the flag, they presented speeches and songs to convey their love for Pakistan. Ms. Irum Sheikh, Incharge Student Council, poetically expressed the need of determination and hope in overcoming the various challenges our country is facing today. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, extended her heartfelt felicitations to the staff members and their families on this joyous occasion. She stressed upon the fact that as a nation, we should be grateful and vigilant in order to protect our freedom. In the end, she also planted a sapling in the college garden to commerate the occasion. Independence Day celebrations play an important role in instilling the patriotic spirit in the youth of the country.

To commerate the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised various activities on 11th August, 2023. The day started with a Quran Khawani for the progress of our beloved country. Afterwards a documentary titled " A Short Story of Pakistan" was played for the respected staff members. The documentary took us on the journey of the creation of Pakistan and succeeded in paying homage to the Muslim freedom fighters. A map reading activity and Poster Display was also arranged in accordance with the celebration of the Independence Day of Pakistan. In the end, Principal Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh led a poignant prayer for the betterment of Pakistan and its loyal citizens.

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised an orientation ceremony for the newly admitted students of HSSC-I today to kick-start the activities of the academic year 2023-24. Both the students and their respected parents were invited to attend the event. The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Vice Principal, Ms. Shabana Tabassum, as well as Incharges of various committees such as Discipline, Student Council, Transport, Timetable, Admissions and Student Affairs (HSSC-I) were also present on the occasion. The host of the event, Ms. Somia Sohail (Asst. Professor, Dept. of English) welcomed the new students. Afterwards, she invited the distinguished Principal of the college to address the gathering. The Principal, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, started her speech by congratulating the students and their parents on getting admission in one of the illustrious educational institutions of the capital. She also informed the pupils about the institution's great legacy, the on campus facilities provided to the students and the rules of the college. She laid emphasis on the crucial role of hard work, discipline and honesty for attaining success in life. Her address was well received by the audience. The Incharge of Discipline Committee stressed upon the compliance of college rules on the part of the students. The Incharge Transport Committee informed the pupils regarding the bus facility and its routes. The Incharge of Student Affairs (HSSC-I) also interacted with the pupils. Overall, the orientation ceremony ensured the smooth beginning of the new academic session.

*Quran Khwani and Dua for Madam Afroze Begum*
An Icon of FG Institutions, Ms Afroze Begum, was laid to rest on 11th June, 2023. May Allah bless her with the highest place in Jannah. Madam Afroze was an institution in herself. She remained Principal of F G College for Women, F-7/2, Islamabad for fifteen years. She made it a role model for sister institutions. She was, no doubt, indispensable. She also served as DG FDE and Chairperson FBISE. Her services in the field of education, especially in the Federal Capital, will never be forgotten.
To pay homage to the great personality of Madam Afroze Begum, a Quran Khwani followed by Dua, was organized at IMCG(PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, on 23rd June 2023 at 9:30 a. m. The faculty members gathered in Afroze Begum Auditorium . Retired and senior faculty members attended the Quran Khwani. Ex- Principals, as well as serving Principals, came to pay their respect to the deceased soul. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, current Principal of IMCG F-7/2, Islamabad offered Dua for the late soul. All eyes were in tears at the great loss. She would always be remembered as a guardian /protector and custodian of educational trends and traditions. 🤲

Principal, teaching / non teaching staff and students of IMCG (PG) , F-7/2 , Islamabad are in great sorrow over the sudden demise of Miss Afroze Begum, one of the pioneers of this college, a maverick and mentor of so many who followed in her footsteps and kept the flag of this institution flying. Names of Ms. Afroze Begum and F-7/2 have always been taken together and will remain inseparable as she gave 19 shining years of glorious service to this college. She will always be remembered as a role model for teachers and principals to come. She was undoubtedly a symbol of courage, commitment and innovation. She was one of the founders of this exceptional college. We request her friends and family to accept our deepest, heartfelt sympathies and condolences on this profound loss with a wish to bear it with fortitude. May her soul rest in peace. Ameen.

Every year Labour Day is celebrated all over the world on the first of May to acknowledge the vital role of labourers in a nation's progress. In this regard, a ceremony was held in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 today. The Chief Guest for the function was Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The function was organised by the Department of Economics. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasul-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). An English documentary was presented by Maheen Khan, a student of BS Economics semester VI, on the history of May day. Sadia Komal, a pupil of BS Economics semester VI, educated the audience regarding the rights of the workers in Islam. The students of BS Economics semester VIII presented a spirited tableau on Labour Day. A student of BS Economics semester VIII, Amina bibi, presented a melodious poem on the significance of fair treatment of the labourers of the nation. Iffat and group from BS Economics semester IV dramatically depicted the plight of a labourer in this capitalist era. Fatima Noor from BS Economics semester VIII presented a poem on May day. Areeba and group presented a tableau on the unfair treatment of the diligent workers by the society. Maheen Khan presented a prayer for the labourers who are the unsung heroes of our nation. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh greatly appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students of the Department of Economics for organising an excellent event today. She emphasized upon the importance of respecting the labourers for their toil and to work hard for achieving success in life and hereafter. The Principal of the college along with the head of the Department of Economics distributed certificates of appreciation among the participants of today's function. The program ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

It is a great honour for IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad that FBISE has awarded merit scholarships to seven of its top scoring students based on the result of Annual HSSC Examination 2022. In the field of Humanities, Faiza Younis, Mishaa Zafar, Syeda Fizza Rizvi and Ruqia Zahoor have been awarded the scholarship. In the category of Pre Medical, Hijab Zahra is the proud recipient of the merit scholarship. In the field of Pre Engineering, Noor Fatima has received the scholarship from FBISE. Lastly, Syeda Abeeha Batool, from General Science group, has been given the merit scholarship. This achievement is a testament to the diligence of the students and their mentors.
